On April 1, 2015, the President of the Czech Republic signed a bill into law which will allow the registering of changes in the Commercial Register through a public notary. The change, which was foreseen with the adoption of the new Civil Code (Act No. 89/2012 Coll.), will help entrepreneurs especially to cut their costs. It should also speed up the process of recording changes in the public register.
The court fee for first-time registration of a joint stock company in the Commercial Register using a public notary will be CZK 8 000 instead of the CZK 12 000 due for registration through the responsible court; the fee for registering a limited liability company will be CZK 2 700 down from CZK 6 000. The cost for making changes or adding data to existing entries will be CZK 1 000 instead of CZK 2 000. Fees for registration by a public notary should be paid to the notary directly.
The new amendment is expected to take effect from May 2015.
